Inspired by the beautiful microscopic worlds of all existence and the life giving nature of water. I wanted the painting to be floaty and serene with a light and gentle atmosphere. Calming on the mind and soft on the eye. A peaceful energy field of colour dancing across the picture plane that is both enchanting and mesmerising.

'I started taking my 'Life Enlarged' paintings on to paper. The paint behaves so differently and magically on paper. It soaks in and dries much faster so I have to work really quickly and much more randomly so it really does tie in with my molecular chaos.

So far in the works on paper, the paintings have a strong sense of movement and vibration so really it is the colour and atmospherics that shift in each and give each a different character. In this one the mood is quiet, soft and more subdued. The colours are gentle and peaceful yet resilient and strong.
Like people, every painting has a personality.

What I enjoy most about my paintings is they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls style and finesse with a splash of colour for years to come.

These little framed artworks create an elegant talking point with a view into another world where beautiful mysterious shapes and forms drift gently in and out of focus.
