This painting has a fantastic soft colour vibration. I wanted it to be about gentle movement, slow flow and have a sense of joy. It was inspired by my work with microscopic and molecular worlds. The reds and pink-red is so evocative, a dynamic colour that creates light and warmth. This one has a calm, enchanting and mesmerising effect on the wall.
This painting looks at the microscopic minutiae of life and the circular organic motifs allude to flower petals or cellular life forms, nature in its daintiest form as dna, blood cells, amoebas. And in circular arrangements, the pulsating rhythmic patterns of universal forms that so often stop us in our tracks in awe of their magnificence.
"They are like falling rose petals" was a lovely comment I received about this series of paintings.
What I enjoy most about my paintings is they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls finesse and a splash of colour for years to come.

I have tried to keep the prices of my paintings lower than usual due to the effect of Corona Virus on the world economy and my income. I am hoping it helps some buyers to beautify their homes in this current situation and be able to support a sole trader - artist (that's me), at the same time.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jacquelyn Stephens is a Melbourne based artist who has been successfully exhibiting her paintings for over 20 years since completing a BFA in Painting at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts. She has gained an extensive knowledge of Art, quality art materials, techniques and theory from working closely within the arts industries and in her own art practice. Jacquelyn works full time from her studio on the Melbourne fringe. She has had several successful solo and group exhibitions in commercial galleries and artists run spaces. Her paintings can be seen in many media publications and are held in private collections worldwide. Many of the key themes in her work have been informed by her interest in water, nature, science, the environment and the domain of medicine.
