I live in the beautiful Blue Mountains in Australia surrounded by natural birdlife. I can't help but want to capture these beautiful birds into artwork and the drawing of them has me discover extra details and fascinations about them.
Rosella's are such a nostalgic birds to me and feel very iconic to Australia. Growing up on a bush property I would see them from the kitchen windows constantly and still now they land on my deck, seeming so friendly and keen to join my company.
This artwork comes from a collection called 'Home of the Skyfarers' which depicted birdlife native to my surrounds. Species that fill me with delight.
This piece if oil mixed charcoal on paper, 297 x 420 mm. Piece comes unframed.
