Artwork Description

Oil on wood, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Koekohe Beach is a favourite place to visit on New Zealand's South Island. Found in the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark, the beach is home to the Moeraki Boulders. The painting looks to the north and depicts three people clambering up one of the famous boulders.

This is the third in a series of paintings, all from photos taken on the same afternoon. The change in light has drawn out different blues in each painting, this perhaps being the darkest of the three.
