Slate tile mounted on painted board.
Signed on the back.
This artwork comes with an external frame
In my garden I discovered this slate tile with its variety of natural patterns. As an experiment I covered sections with coloured pencil and before I knew it, a seascape appeared! It is varnished and professionally mounted in a sturdy timber box frame. No glass. The tile is 30 x 30 cm.
Metamorphic means a 'change in form' and as it started as a stepping stone in the garden and ended up as an artwork, I thought the title was quite fitting. Slate is actually a metamorphic rock as well.
This artwork makes a conversation piece and is definitely one-of-a-kind.
