Reproduction Print on paper
Signed on the front.
This print comes from an original portrait painted of ABC presenter, Eddie Ayres.
Eddie Ayres (born 1967), named Emma Ayres at birth, is a musician, music teacher and radio presenter. He is notable for his work on the Australian ABC Classic FM radio station, as well as for his numerous charitable efforts.
As a classically trained musician, Eddie was for many years a violinist with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, before joining the ABC.
He left the orchestra to cycle from Shropshire in England to Hong Kong for charity in 1999. And for all of the 16,000 kilometres he carried his violin, he called Aurelia.
In 2016, in an interview with freelance journalist Danielle Moylan published in the Sydney Morning Herald, Eddie came out as a transgender man.
