Oil Paint on linen, ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
Near the shoreline stands a juvenile Banksia, leaning into the sea breeze it steadies itself.
For me Noosa has always been a special place which is why I paint it so frequently, it's where I first met my wife who grew up there!. I've spent many contented hours sketching and painting the idyllic beaches and coves that sit within Noosa National Park, and Tea Tree Bay on this spring morning provided me all the inspiration I needed to sketch out a composition.
I just loved the way this little Banksia felt as if it were leaning into the breeze towards the warm and inviting green & turquoise waters that are so iconic to this part of the coast, I just had to make it my focal point!. Silhouetted in the distance by a light haze we can see the shapes of the Noosa hinterland and North Shore.
It's these types of idyllic coastal scenes that I get excited about painting!, depicting them on canvas really takes me to that place, it's nice to have that close connection.
