My interest in bodily processes, machinations, dissection and perspectives led me to examine my own body throughout this project. The divide between the corporeal 'mind' and physical body and the disconnection I experience between them is a problem I continue to resolve through my artwork. In this way my work becomes intrapersonal and references the female gaze.

Flickr 2 explores these ideas of the female gaze, self-knowledge, and my experience as a woman in the world. The image holds a feminine power through the absence of a male gaze - it dispenses with the traditional ideas of male painter and female subject.
