Inspired by one of my favourite beaches near home on the beautiful southwest of Australia, where bottlenose dolphins can regularly be seen surfing the waves. A good friend takes amazing photos of these surfing dolphins during the day, but I've always imagined how incredible it would be to see them surfing in moonlit waves as well.
As this is pretty hard to do I thought painting it as I imagined it, would bring this night time dream to reality. Coming up with a name for this wasn't easy, but then the Pearl Jam song 'Amongst the waves' came on my playlist and it just matched perfectly. And who could disagree with Eddie Vedder
