We are super lucky on our Dunsborough coast from August to December, as whales fill Geographe Bay on their epic southern migration to Antarctic waters. Humpback whales use the crystal clear waters of the bay to rest and play and if you go for a snorkel off meelup and sink to the bottom there’s a good chance you will hear their beautiful songs. This painting was inspired by my water colour range of paintings as I wanted to experiment with colours and gold leaf texture on these magnificent creature on a larger scale.
