A glimpse at a vintage photo was the catalyst for this painting. My version became a young woman filled with hope, a little unsure, yet strong enough to do what she really wants. I wanted to capture the emotions with a fairly realistic face, yet playfulness to all else in the work.
I imagine this painting could bring calmness to a space yet hopefully retain intrigue for the viewer.
She appears to me as someone who would be a good friend. The imagined crown indicates her character; this girl will have your back no matter what adventure unfolds.
The canvas and backing timber are of the highest quality and made to order. Acrylic paint is over a charcoal sketch, and vintage dress patterns are adhered with polymer gloss medium.
