In this painting I wanted to capture the “Spirit of Melbourne” in an abstract way. The colours connect to the mood of Melbourne's, lively communities, rich in various cultures. The arts, food and wine, intermingled with the tranquillity and soul of the city.

This painting has been created on strong, rigid panel.
My panels are coated with acid-free acrylic gesso.
The artwork is unframed and has no hanging hardware.

Painting on a rigid wooden board allows me, to build up rich layers of, marks, text and coloured glazes, without the surface collapsing, as when using a stretched canvas .
