Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

In the culinary world deconstruction is the art of separating the components of a dish and then restructuring them in a unique and innovative way to tantalise the senses, while staying true to the original dish.

I am no chef but I wanted to explore this method in art. Taking the sea and sky components of a traditional seascape and restructuring them to give an intriguingly modern perspective. The subject is nostalgic of the seaside and the abstraction is enhanced by the canvas placement, ripples an folds.
