Painting of a weedy seadragon based on my own reference photos taken at various aquariums. Weedy sea dragons are beautiful, ornate creatures and I've captured their detail down to the tiny yellow spots.
The background is based on an image taken by underwater world by Twimperology: deviantart.com/art/underwater-world-143130609 .
The background blue was painted in acrylic and all other aspects in oil paint. The painting was given a full 6 months to dry before protecting with two layers of gloss varnish.
