Having fun combining many things in art that I love so very much. My collection of vintage papers (handwritten ledger paper - 1898), adhered to a canvas as a paint surface for my acrylic paints - then painting a vintage villa, typical of Adelaide architecture from around the same age. I love houses so much - much of my working life was spent drawing them for real estate companies. But I'm picking out features that I love, and rendering them in paint. The paint is both, opaque, and transparent, so that the edges and handwriting underneath appears and disappears -like melding into one. I'm planning on doing more of these. So would make for a wonderful collection to display together. There is ALWAYS a space for small format art! Add interest to your walls. This one is a conversation starter. This villa is in Semaphore, beachside suburb of Adelaide. The whole artwork is intended to have slight flaws - less than perfect, just like the home - which I'm sure is deservedly loved. It has been sprayed with a protective coating, which keeps the paper natural-looking, but the acrylics have a semi-gloss, almost giving a 3D effect. Ready-to-hang (wire). 7" square, 1.5" depth.
