Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
Combining things in art that I love so very much. My collection of vintage papers (handwritten ledger paper - 1890s), adhered to a canvas as a paint surface for my acrylic paints. Then, in acrylic paints, this glowing mass of full rose blooms and buds explode forth. Almost like flames from a roaring fire.
And I adore roses, Adelaide is the rose capital of Australia. I choose to paint what I love, and I personally fell in love with this particular painting.
The paint is both, opaque, and transparent, so that the edges and the old handwriting underneath appears and disappears -like melding into one. I'm planning on doing more of these - follow me, and check my listings! So would make for a wonderful collection to display together. There is ALWAYS a space for small format art! Add interest to your walls. This one is a conversation starter.
The whole artwork is intended to have slight flaws - less than perfect, but it is not flawed.
It has been sprayed with a protective coating, which keeps the paper natural-looking, but the acrylics have a semi-gloss, almost giving a 3D effect.
Ready-to-hang (wire). Though can be framed, if desired. Signed on SIDE, as shown in photo. 7.25" square, 1.5" depth.
