Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
Small but dynamic. Perfect Harmony. It was just one of those days when all fell perfectly into place. A lovely day with a drive in country backroads and then stopping at a hotel for lunch with amazing food.
The hotel was on some river banks, and the windows had spectacular views, and sunlight flooded in, Our table had this wonderful vase of flowers (Alstroemeria) - delicate light petals with long stamens - just joyfully gathering in a clear glass vase - where stems and shadows played ever changing games.
The moment I saw these i knew that i would some day HAVE to paint this, and finally have!
Just a small format art work (SFA), but as said - dynamic!
I so enjoyed the time in the sun with wonderful food, and great company of my friend. i couldn't help but think that this day seemed like perfect harmony, but felt the need to treasure this fleeting moment, as it was to be one of the rarer moments of peace, as my friend was enduring the final days of terminal cancer, but still lovely to feel this one day of 'perfect harmony'. Cherished.
Alstroemeria, commonly called the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Alstroemeriaceae.
NOTE: The surface has been wax coated with a special preservative/protective cold wax finish - the bonus is that this work does not necessarily need to be framed with glass or perspex. It has a soft sheen to the textured surface,
There is no border allowance for framing, so would be overlapped on sides if matted - OR you can 'float mount' - the edges are straight-cut. The image shown framed is just a suggestion and sizing is approximate.
Unframed. Shipped flat.
This artwork has never been framed or exhibited.
