Pastel on paper
Signed on the front.
Imagine having to sketch a person, who suddenly poses before you in a set time (anywhere from 5 minutes, to 30) - no time for pre-draughts, no tutor, no art rules. Choose your own medium. I love the challenge of this, as an artist. The absolute spontaneity of having a live model pose for an artist group, and off you go. Here I've used soft pastels, a pure form of art, of sketching, of drawing, of painting. Some 'refine' after time expires, but I choose not to. This is the result of one 'life study' session with a group of artists - and, I think, too lovely just to hide away, unseen, unappreciated. The beauty of the human form, unconstrained.
The image size is as shown, but there is extra paper past image size, under the mat, to allow re-matting if desired. Currently professionally matted in deep chocolate brown, with backing (- you can easily change this out to mat of your choice) - ready to be dropped into a frame - mat size approx. 35.5 cm (H) x 39cm (W). The artwork is only secured at the top. I choose a natural look - I sketch on brown Kraft paper - it's not perfectly smooth, and I also don't use pastel fixative, as I've not found one that doesn't alter pastels. I like my pastels to keep their bright colours, and crisp, defined edges. Handle with care upon delivery.
