Inspired by the sensations of swimming in The Basin - Rottnest Island, Western Australia. I want the viewer to feel as though they’re in the water! I had to do some frantic egg-beater kick whilst trying to take photos from the sea looking back at the island. I have layered, scraped back and relayered thick oil paint with a palette knife to try and convey motion.
