Much of my work carries an Italian theme which stems from travels in Italy and being married to an Italian. This lithograph is derived from an antique photo. In Australia there is still living memory of scenes like this in our Italian migrant community. Art can help connect people to their families heritage and remind future generations of the life lived by their forebears. Hand coloured.

The beautiful designs of Italian Playing cards date back to the Renaissance. This set of four hand coloured and hand drawn lithographs is from the 'Bastone' suite of the classic Napoletane deck. I became fascinated with the beautiful designs when learning to play the traditional Italian card game of 'Scopa' and this set of four lithographs is an expression of my interest in these playing card designs.
