You might think what is a ‘bomschuit?” It is a typical Dutch (and some Schottish) fishing vessels with no kiel. They go out fishing at eve until early in the morning when they beach their boats and when the water has subsided people come (mostly the families) with baskets to bring the catch on shore for sale to the ordinary village people, and the fishmongers of the nearest cities. This scene is extra dramatic with the early sky turning bright red. As the Dutch say: “Morgen stond heeft goud in the mond,” which translates; Early morning red sky promises a good day of making a decent profit.”
Note: If you who would like to view my paintings in person, you are welcome to a live viewing at the seriously chique " Hampton Estate Wines " on Mount Tamborine (Gold Coast hinterland) where there are always around 20-30 paintings on show. Worth coming up the mountain for a day trip if you are visiting the Gold Coast , Queensland 4272, Australia.
