For me this is a thought provoking piece. The turquoise blue colours give a sense of calm whilst the warmer cream colours represent hope. Notice that the two eyes are different....indicating the person is in two minds. One hand is reaching out for freedom of the butterfly, but the hand doesn't quite grasp the butterfly. You will also notice the silhouette of the lady with a long flowing dress in the centre of the face.....something that is a reflection from the past or maybe the future. I don't know.
