Acrylic Paint on canvas
Signed on the front.
Painting Dogs is more like painting emotions and attitudes. This is a Whippet, painted wearing a party hat, is quietly waiting for her moment.
Im influenced by the renaissance portraitists, by animal portraitists like Stubbs, by Ben Quilty's raw brushwork, and by Picasso's determination to just paint whatever he felt like.
The Dogs are painted on flat un-stretched canvas, because I prefer that to paper. But as they are un-stretched they will have to be framed behind glass. I mask out a border around the painting, to give a nice clean line, to give the image space, and to make it easier to frame up nicely.
Every morning when I walk into may studio, the line up of party dogs is delightful. they work quite nicely in pairs. Please message a Bluethumb Curator if you are interested in the pair, as the pair together will be offered for a better price, and to save paying double freight.
