Part of "The F Word - Freaky Feelings" series of paintings. This painting depicts the emotional abandonment of a child and the painful emotional responses of fear. Although physically close, adults are often unable to give affection and nurture a childs emotional needs - it is not a parent’s act but a parent’s failure to act that can have profound effects on the emotional development of a child. The style of this painting is influenced by many "outsider" or "art brut" artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Matt Sesow and Poete Maudit.
