"Heart of the Matter is one of Julie’s still life collection.This is a conceptual piece reflecting on my life and painting. The apple with its links to creation, also was the subject of the first painting I sold. The central apple is used here with its core pentagram visible to represent spirt, earth, air, fire, and water, all contributing to life and are part of me. I have surrounded this single apple, by the of the tripod of life in apples. The tripod of life represents mind body and spirt, it was formed on the second day of creation and developed into the seed of life by the sixth day of creation. The seed of life is the basis for the flower of life, fruit of life and tree of life. In essence this reflects on the starting point of the apple for my art, and alludes to ongoing evolution of my art. The apples are both representational and symbolic. Heart of the Matter will bring a contemporary feel to any space.
