Every morning during summer break in primary school, we got up early and gathered with the neighbourhood kids for the radio gymnastic exercise. Morning glories opening up their purple flowers in the morning sunlight were always there waiting for me, I still remember the aroma of the flowers and moisture in the air. The morning sunshine always made me feel everything is going to be alright.

This artwork is created on delicate Washi-paper with Sumi-ink and medium size calligraphy brushes specially sent from Japan.

私がまだ小学生だった頃、夏休みになると毎朝早起きをして、近所の子供達とラジオ体操に出かけました。毎朝庭に咲いていた薄紫色の朝顔が、快く出迎えてくれました。その朝顔の花の香りと、清々しい夏の朝の空気の香りを今でも忘れません。いつも朝日を浴びるとその日一日ポジティブな気分になれたものです。
