Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
"Plumbago in my Garden" was inspired by my plumbago bush. It's tucked in under some trees and the light is very dappled, but the flowers pop out with their blue purple vitality. This work represents the random flowers and colours that emerge in that corner of the garden.
The painting is made up of lots of translucent layers in the background, with extant opaque marks gesturing the foliage and flowers on the top of those layers. I have played with the materiality of the paint with this work and I have enjoyed leaving some of the more random happenings that occurred along the way.
Thankyou for looking:)
