Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Flowers feature in much of the Artists work, and the Banksia and Protea flowers are native to both Australia and South Africa, with a strong connection to both countries, and a passion for flowers and nature this body of work feels like a natural progression from the abstract poppies that the artist is known for.

Layers of paint and layers of abstraction are applied until the form and color emerges from the canvas, this beautiful bouquet has been captured in a painterly way, typifying the artists technique.

Artist statement. "Just like resolving issues in everyday life, the process of painting for me can be likened to this, it is much the same and by taking steps to add layer by layer of paint, the work emerges from the canvas until ultimately it is resolved, this process is of course influenced by issues and events I am faced with, painting is thus much more than a process it is an outcome. I love working with color, it evokes an emotional response, for me there is a strength in applying color to a canvas I have always been fearless with color which for me represents resilience, the colors can be both primary or subtle the response is the same. Thank you for looking and I hope that you also make that emotional connection with my work.

Styled scenes are not 100% to scale

Cost of custom packaging to protect the work during transit is included in the price.

Blue and green background covered in a veneer of small brushstrokes, obscuring what is below.A large rectangular canvas with deep ocean blues, shades of coral and turquoise covered in brush strokes, resembling embroidery stitches. The veneer of mark making creates an illusion of movement, a modern interpretation of our ocean.

An abstract landscape with light to mid greens, covered in a veneer of tiny repetitive brush strokes in pastel and mid greens, creating a pixelated garden scene.Blues, greens lilac and pink repetitive mark making, using a small brush to create a veneer over the abstract landscape below. resulting in a calming work.
