Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This artwork comes with an external frame

Ocean escape, part of a body of work that has evolved during recent times in response to the turmoil and confusion in the world. The work commences with layers of colour, these layers went down in a chaotic way. Such free abandonment, defiant of rules and order, a determination not to conform. I am trying to make sense of it all and thus, draw it all back to some semblance of order, and conformity. The final layer of mark making and brush strokes are the antithesis of the layers below.

The inspiration began with my passion for Impressionism, mark making in the final layer is however more defined and intense. This is an emotive response to current circumstances I am therefore fully invested in the final outcome.

This work is inspired by the ocean and the elements , I am lucky enough to live next to the beach, it is a constant inspiration for me.

The sides are 3.5cm deep and are painted blue, this work therefore does not need to be framed unless the collector prefers it to be, in which case blue thumb offer that option.

Blues, greens, peach lilac and pink repetitive mark making, using a small brush to create a veneer over the abstract landscape below. resulting in a calming work.An abstract landscape of layers and contrast in small brush strokes arranged in a pattern, covered in individual mark making creating a veneer, the intention is to obscure what lies below in a beautiful way. Each mark is the result of many layers, and the colours are all mixed by the artist in a careful way. This work features every shade of blue and green, and hints and hues of lilac, peach and pinkA joyful work full of deep to pastel tones and colours, inspired by my garden outside my art studio. Shades of bluey green and all shades of green mark making creates a veneer over the abstract landscape background.Hot shades in the background, completely paired back by a veneer of brush strokes, in shades of blues and greens, giving the viewer a pixelated aerial view of an abstract landscape.
