Artwork Description

The drought that is hitting this country plays a big part in my family’s life.. coming from farming stock, we understand all too well, the impact that weather has on crops, and livestock.
This painting shows the last waterhole on the property..in the foreground, while almost obscuring an already searing sun, when it’s still Winter, is a dust storm.. obliterating detail, obscuring the horizon and removing top soil. The last waterhole will not be, for much longer. The sky is coloured with dust, producing an eerie shade too often seen on our farming lands.
Although depicting the tragedy of drought, there * is* hope.. perhaps the waterhole will remain.
This is a small painting, with edges painted, ready to be hung; fit for a study or alcove area, where contemplation of the scene can be absorbed.
