”Trade Winds” was painted on location by the sea at the Hervey Bay Boat Harbour. The varied shades of green are indicative of the shore front’s vegetation, the blue and turquoise hues of the ocean, the brilliant white of the sea spray, the violet late-afternoon shadows cast by the slowly setting sun. The direction of the brushstrokes and the drippy splashes of paint envoke thoughts of the rhythmic action of the ocean’s waves and its cool sea breezes.
