I started this painting with a rainbow coloured background, and just enjoying the early stages of the painting. Working free and loose, and spontaneous, the idea was to cover the blank canvas quickly, making marks, using various stamping tools, and making marks, using brushes , and various found objects and a riot of colour. I usually play some kind of music, and let the brushes dance on the canvas along to the music, and express how I feel at that moment. The repeated patterns express the rhythm of the music. The accidental abstract shapes and patterns suggested a city or urban landscapes, or perhaps a scene from another planet. I hope the viewer fills in the gaps with their imagination. Colour , shapes and patterns dance around the canvas, and the cat and bird add interest. Channeling a bit of Kandinsky or Paul Klee , and a new direction, as I continue to explore and as my art evolves with every painting I do.
