Triptych framed in raw solid Blackwood

Each piece, including frame, measures 84 cm wide. The three pieces are 43, 27, 43 cm high

This landscape was once heartachingly beautiful but was ravaged by the 2019/20 bushfires. As many know, Lake Conjola was one of the worst hit communities in NSW during the last fire season, leaving not only the Community traumatised, with many homes razed and local wildlife populations decimated, but also the almost entire destruction of landscape bordering the lake and for much of the surrounding area.

This triptych was particularly emotional for me to paint. I have been visiting and staying in the area for over 20 years and I have close family that live there and were fighting the fire to protect their home on that fateful day.

It seems ironic that since the arrival of the Covid-19 Pandemic little thought has been spared for the bushfire ravaged communities while the challenges and trauma they face remain very real and ongoing.
