'Wistful' is a soft and soothing abstract. It is an expression of melancholy that I always have at this time of year, having accumulated many losses along the way. You may be the same? It's not specific or acute but more of a gentle wistfulness as I think about the people and animals that I will not see again. I painted five grey dripping shadowy shapes against an ethereal, translucent, shimmering multi-colour background, as I contemplated these feelings. The painting process allows me to express those multi layered feelings for which I have no words. It is such a beneficial process to paint as I think and resolve problems. The painting measures 91 x 91 x 3.5cm. It is unframed but ready to hang with D hooks and wire already attached to the back of the painting. It is painted on the gallery wrapped edges so there is no need to frame the painting, however you can choose to have the work professionally framed at checkout, if you prefer.
