Artwork Description

*D'Anjou Pear Study will be exhibited at the Woodend Winter Art Show, where it can be viewed on the Queens Birthday Long Weekend"

I had the most beautiful pear growing in my orchard. It was the first fruit the D'Anjou Pear Tree produced after three years of being in the ground. With much excitement I would go out and tend to the swelling pear, anticipating how sweet a home grown pear would taste.

And I'm happy to report; this pear was the best one I've ever tasted, even my husband who's not one to enjoy pears agreed. This work was painted with that pear in mind and the memories and excitement of watching it grow.
