Spirited Away is a surrealist figurative work where the background in particular is inspired by the soft pastel colours of the 18th century Rococo Era.

The figure of the young woman executed in part realism, part abstraction morphs in and out of the background skies as if in a dreamlike state, wrapped in her unconscious thought, being transported to another space and time.

Painted in many layers of rich oils on canvas.
