I was inspired by all the lovely blossom trees that are flowering for spring at the moment. I just love superb fairy wrens and while there are quite a few in our area I wasn't lucky enough to see this sight for real but imagined how lovely it would be! I was really happy with the texture that I achieved in the feathers using pastels and pencils over the watercolour base on the bird. Mixed media painting using dye, watercolour paints, pastel pencils and coloured pencils. Natural timber frame (size 22.4cm x 17.2cm) can be hung on the wall or has an attached stand perfect for shelf display.
