This artwork is part of an ongoing series using Art Dolls to explore various themes. This particular piece explores the concept of beauty: the attempt to cover it, disguise it and exploit it.
The Doll Series: I am intrigued by the fine line between the doll as a sculptural art form in itself, and the idea of the Art Doll as a "toy" - to personify (to dress, add makeup, pose, admire and photograph). I change the context of the original doll images to explore a range of themes. They are engaging, yet absent: lifeless, yet immortal: quiet, yet loaded with emotion and symbolic intrigue.
