Artwork Description

Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Beiwe is a Scandinavian Sun Goddess, worshipped by the Sami people of Finland. She is also the goddess of spring and fertility. What really caught my interest in this goddess is that she is also the goddess of Sanity.
During the long dark winter months the Sami would pray to Beiwe as she made her journey back to them that she would help those mentally afflicted.
I wanted to show some of the darkness I sometimes suffer from. With Beiwe , wild and unafraid of the darkness bringing light and hope with her.
