A dark navy blue with orange, mauve and gold accents trimmed with fabric, pin & buttons on canvas created in a response to the wonderful art of patchwork. Loving the detail and the trims I decided to add these to this work to tell a story. The patchwork was the only way I felt I could capture the essence of the costume. All the fabric had been a part of a contemporary dancing costume a Japanese geisha. A abstracted graphic approach to the Illawarra landscape, showing the escarpment and its vegetation. In tones of blue and purples with aqua and gold highlights.A colourful montage of kitchen items, teapot, cup, vase and pears with the impact of the shadows and transparency of glass.As the Topography series progressed I chose to limit my palette with this work but loosened my mark making. This work stands alone or as part of a diptych with Topography 26-2. Collage and Acrylic Paint on a deep edge canvas.
