In this vivid cascade of hues, I've poured my soul into marrying acrylics and spray to evoke a dreamlike embrace. My colours dance with raw emotion, creating a narrative that invites you to step into a realm of both serenity and spirited passion. This piece pulses with the heartbeat of expressionism, the boldness of pop art, and the introspection of fine art, summoning an electrifying energy that will ignite the imagination and transform any room into a sanctuary of dreams. I take inspiration from strong beautiful women from all genres and this particular image reminded me of Wonder Woman - one of my favourite DC good gals. Painted using bright colours, the silhouette of the woman underwater looks upon her hand in contemplation. Named after a line spoken by Gal Gadot in the 2017 film “Wonder Woman”, I have used bright reds, blues and bronze to capture my Wonder Woman.
As with most of my paintings, I have painted in layers. The background using action painting (expressionistic) techniques - pouring, dripping, splashing paint and involving my body in the painting process rather than just the paint brush. The figure was created using contemporary art pop art techniques and stencils, and a further layer of hand painting brought the foreground and background together. My palette is colourful and uses strong contrasts to capture a mood of strength.
Painted onto an un-stretched 12-ounce canvas, the face of the painting measures 163cm x 107cm, and I have allowed a further 8 cm all around the painting to allow for stretching by your preferred professional framer. This further 8 cm takes the size of the canvas to a minimum of 171cm x 115cm and will give you a painted edge to carry around the sides of your stretched canvas. Don't be put off by the fact it's not stretched and ready to hang. With a reduced carbon footprint, and lowered risk, your painting travelling in a thick tube rather than a big box makes sense environmentally and is far more cost effective for you.
