The title is inspired by the Dan Sultan song of the same name about our gorgeous Kimberley Region in the North West of Western Australia.
This painting is inspired by Fortescue Falls which is located in the Karajini National Park in The Kimberley Region, and is the perfect place for a refreshing swim to wash the red dirt away!
Permanent water is a welcome site in the arid Pilbara environment, so here you can leave the red dirt and spinifex behind. As you descend into the gorge you will notice the vegetation change as you go deeper, becoming more green and lush. The rocks too change colour, becoming richer red and purple as you go deeper. The pool at the end of the falls is an oasis – the perfect place for a refreshing swim.
This painting is the fourth in my Australian Water & Fauna Series.
This work is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas and has been sealed with varnish, comes ready to hang and with a Certificate of Authenticity.
