Mono no Aware 5 (fifth of series) is one of those untranslatable words/phrases, and in Japanese points to the melancholic appreciation of the transience of life and things. Painting mountains as if air or water, celebrating impermanence on grand scale. The series is influenced by a residency in Kyoto, Japan.
This piece is framed in Douglas Fir and comes ready to hang. It was made in many layers, including acrylic paint skins.
