Lara Scolari lives and works full time on her art making practice within her vibrant studio, gallery & home located in the heart of Balmain, Sydney.

Reflecting on personal experiences, discussing nurturing and love as well as the hidden undercurrents and agendas that are involved with these emotive states. Lara has expanded and developed this concept which informs an intimate visual language that is expressed within her work.

An action painter, Lara’s work is produced in an Abstract Expressionist style, exploring developed experimental techniques and processes. Creating depth through layers, building up each work using a variety of media, focusing on line, organic shape, and composition.

MONO is Lara’s latest series developed to be launched for Art Month Sydney 2016. The MONO works explore a limited tonal palette of black, white and sepia & focus on simpler considered compositional forms, reflecting and revealing hidden dioramas evoking the energy and chaos of the inner city.
