Oil Paint on wood
Signed on the front.
When I was 18 I went to an Art Gallery in St Kilda, there were these beautiful flowers in the exhibition. I do not remember the artists' name but there and then I wanted to be an artist. So 3 years later I started my Bachelor Of Visual Art (Fine Art).
To me, a rose symbolizes the changes that we go through life as humans. We start out all restricted and tight like a rose bud and as we learn things or physically develop we turn into a full bloom rose. Think of a new born baby, they are used to being in the fetal position in their mothers womb for the first week of life, then they start to open their arms and stretch out their legs. Noticing there is more around them.
Or if you look at it from a Psychological analogy instead (as I study a double degree in Criminology and Psychological Science my brain can not help but think like that) when someone is restricted by anxiety or depression lets say as they go through steps to defeat depression such as discover self-love and their self-worth and not just suppress it with medication they start to again open up like a rose in bloom. They all of the sudden feeling that they are part of this beautiful world that attract others to admire their beauty.
