The 16 million hectares of the Great Western Woodlands hold many surprises for the adventurous traveller. The Ngadju people know the emu (jula) and kangaroo predict the seasons. More chicks herald wetter seasons, less chicks means drought ahead.
I spotted this mob of emus at the old Dundas town site and by the time I grabbed my camera, they had disappeared into the Blackbutt eucalyptus and were almost impossible to spot. How many can you find in the painting? If you buy it the answer will be written on the back of the frame.
