My self-portrait is not just of me, but of my ancestors. I see my features as a representation of my ancestors, the eyes, the nose and mouth, chin and shoulders. The stripes in the background is to show the different areas of my ancestor features on my own face. Hair however I can change from day to day and therefore in this portrait I excluded it. It was a progressive thought that to add hair would overshadow the facial features of my ancestors in the portrait.
I am an artist, a wife, a mother, a teacher of art and self-improvement, a health and fitness fanatic, and a lover of life. I chose to do art in school, and in university. I chose to develop my skills and in turn teach others how to use theirs. I came to the conclusion that Art chose me.
Why Self Portrait: I admire my ancestors and their features I inherited. An Australian family, though we have a range of nationalities which lead to this family, such as German, Scottish, English, Irish and aboriginal to name a few.
I am proud to be a part of my ever growing multicultural family.
This is Me!
