Artwork Description

I lived, for a while, in a mining community in the mountains. This is how I remember the escarpments after a fire had raced through. After a fire it was so very still, but you knew new life was already re-generating.

Motivation for painting this? I saw a photo posted by Ellen-May Hughes which reminded me of this facet of life in Australian bushland.

The painting is textured with the use of impasto and finished with acid free gloss varnish.
