Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed certificate of authenticity.

I have been reading a lot lately about people who are disowned by their families because they are part of the LGBTQ+ community and it breaks my heart. Being a Mother to a LGBTQ+ child I could never, ever imagine how anyone could do that to their child.

I started this series my child officially came out though we already knew and it was a bit anti climatic for them cause all they got was yeah we know and we love you for who you are.

Hopeful is painting number 21 in a series that I call out of the grey.

The idea is for the birds or animals to have the colours of the pride flag splashed proudly on them with a grey background as if they are coming out of the grey area that has been holding them back and coming out into the light/colour and feeling happy and proud of who they are.
