Years ago , on the outskirts of Willandra in Far West NSW ,I was fixing a remote boundary fence . Anyway there were rabbits everywhere. It was a plague. They were a strange orange colour. The same colour as the red dust. I also saw a couple of grey ones and a yellow one. The rabbits were climbing trees to eat leaves because there was no grass left. I come across two people who were carrying some rabbits which they caught with their bare hands. They were rabbit catchers. This painting was inspired by that experience.
This painting looks better in real life than in these photos. I think it's one of the best paintings I have done this year 2019. You won't regret buying this work.
